Sports and markets available – A Huge Range of Options
- Bet Number of Receiving Yards for a Player in NFL! Why not?
FanDuel is a place where most sports enthusiasts will find pretty much everything they are looking for in terms of the range of sports and betting markets available. The highlight is on American sports which is by no means surprising given the site operates exclusively in New Jersey. Speaking of these, we can confirm the sportsbook provides a vast array of markets for NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB.
Moneyline, spread and totals get the prime, but FanDuel truly has reasons to be proud of their exotic bets options including alternative lines, props, parlays, quarter-bets, half time bets, player props, long-term bets, etc.
Just to describe the versatility, you can bet a number of receiving yards for a certain NFL player, race to 15 points in NBA or NCAA, first goal-scorer in NHL, the 5th inning score in MLB, etc.
Other sports are present as well, with a seemingly fewer number of markets, though. Nonetheless, you can place bets on soccer, tennis, motor-racing, MMA, boxing, cricket, darts, golf, and rugby as well. All sports and markets are very easy to access being positioned on the left side of the main page.
- Live Betting: A Feature Taylor-Made for Opportunistic Bettors
In-play betting is also available for most popular sports and events. However, we did notice on various occasions that FanDuel are somewhat slower in updating lines and odds for in-play events. Whereas it might be highlighted as a downside, it is a huge advantage for opportunistic and more experienced bettors who can take advantage of such delay in odds-change.
Odds & Limits
- Odds: Industry Standard
Our FanDuel Sportsbook Review 2019 would be incomplete without a closer look at the odds. Moneyline spreads and totals are mainly priced at industry standard 20 cents for main sports (football, basketball, ice hockey, and baseball). Comparing it to other popular New Jersey sportsbooks, we found that the odds and players’ advantage may differ from one match to another. For example, FanDuel offered the best pre-game odds for the NBA Conference play-offs final between Golden State Warriors and Portland Trailblazers (for main markets), but they failed to match competitors’ pricing for the Stanley Cup final between Boston Bruins and St. Louis Blues. To conclude, we can’t say their pre-game odds are either advantage or disadvantage.
- Exotic Markets
Pricing is not ideal for the aforementioned exotic markets, though. You will hardly stay profitable placing bets on less-popular sports and on less popular markets where their pricing can go up to 30-35 cents. It also works for most live-betting options. This is why we would suggest you avoid his type of markets long-term. They can be super-interesting for fun and low-stake bets and it’s best to treat them as such.
- Limits: Set them based on your preferences
You have the chance to set your own personal daily, weekly or monthly limit for deposits and bets. The lowest amount you can deposit and withdraw is $10. Paypal, ACH eCheck, FanDuel Prepaid Card and Check are options available for both depositing and withdrawing. You can also make deposits via credit cards, online bank transfer, and wire transfer.
Available Promotions: Get Up to $500
- First bet Insurance up to $500
New FanDuel customers will have their first bet covered up to $500. How does it work? You should just register a new account without the need to enter any promotional code. If your first bet wins, there is basically no welcome bonus for you. However, if it turns out to be losing, FanDuel will match it and credit your account with the same amount of bonus credits.
You can’t withdraw bonus credits instantly, as you can only use it to make new bets (one or more). The promotion is valid until the end of June 2019.
- More promos
There are always certain on-going promotions for existing customers. These vary from week to week or month to month but are mainly associated with major tournaments in most sports. At the moment of writing, we found Women’s World Cup bonus and NHL/NBA playoffs insurance. They encourage parlays offering special price boosts on a daily basis. You can follow these regularly by clicking the promotions tab in the top right corner on the main page.
FanDuel Review 2019: Additional Features
Live streaming: Unique in the United States
FanDuel became the first U.S. based bookmaker to offer live streaming to their customers. Sat the moment, they do not have mainstream sports available. They started off with mid-level tennis (mainly challenger events) and European soccer (German Bundesliga). This is a major breakthrough for the betting industry in the United States and we can only expect more on the live streaming field in time to come.
Mobile Application: Smooth, Sophisticated Look
You can download the FanDuel app on both iOS and Android. We did it and we have nothing to say to discredit the superb work done by developers on this field. The app has an aesthetic look and is very easy to use.
For our FanDuel Sportsbook Review 2019 we downloaded the mobile application. We did not have to scroll down and search for main betting markets (money line, spreads, and totals which were all accessible at once. Once you hit the wanted betting option, the bet slip instantly pops up. You can return to add more picks to the slip by hitting the “x” button. Once you add another bet, the slip will appear on the screen once again. It is very easy to delete any bet with the “trash can” button, while you also get to choose whether you will place bets in singles or rather go for parlays, teasers of round robins in a rather easy fashion.
Our Conclusion: Pros and Cons
Overall, as we saw throughout our FanDuel Sportsbook Review 2019, FanDuel truly deserves a positive grade based on our own experience. The sophisticated software and the design of both web page and app is something we were particularly thrilled with. The site is super-easy to navigate and you can practically go anywhere you want from the main page.
Customer support is available 24/7. We had several conversations with their support agents via the live chat options and were satisfied with how they answered our queries. There are plenty of banking options. We used Paypal for both depositing and withdrawing and experienced no issues at all. The only significant downside would be the range of odds for less-popular markets. It is very hard to beat the bookie long-term betting on these markets and we would warmly recommend you avoiding them for any high-stake bets.
